What to check when you visit a new home before buying
Seeing a home in person is the most important step before buying. We invite you to visit our homes in a gated community with a security booth; book an appointment and one of our advisors will show you around. To make the most of your visit, here is the checklist we recommend.
Checklist for your visit
Walls and slabs: no cracks or damp stains.
Doors and windows: they open, close and seal properly.
Plumbing and electrical: turn on faucets, test water pressure, check outlets and switches.
Carpentry: sturdy drawers, hinges and slides in the kitchen and closets.
Natural light and ventilation in every bedroom.
Slopes on the patio and roof so rainwater drains properly.
Questions to ask
What building system was used?
What warranty does it have and who backs it?
How much are the community's HOA fees?
What payment methods and mortgages are accepted?
Come and meet us
We like our clients to see the work and ask every question. A well-built home has nothing to hide.
One team, start to finish
At Balaya y Asociados we combine design, construction and in-house carpentry: kitchens, closets and doors are made by Cocinas Balaya, our workshop in Querétaro (www.cocinasbalaya.com). We build with Novaceramic multi-perforated clay brick and, to date, none of our homes has had a structural failure.
