What do we build our homes with? The advantages of multi-perforated clay brick
When you buy a home you see the finishes, the kitchen and the facade. What you don't see matters most: what the walls are made of. At Balaya y Asociados we build our homes with multi-perforated clay brick (we use Novaceramic brick), and here we explain why.
1. Structural strength
Multi-perforated brick has many small cells instead of two or three large hollows. That gives each piece more load-bearing material and makes a more uniform wall. To date, none of the homes we have built has had a structural failure.
2. Thermal comfort
The perforations form air chambers that act as insulation. In Querétaro's climate, with hot days and cool nights, that means more stable interiors: cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
3. Less noise
Those same chambers help dampen sound between bedrooms and from outside, something you appreciate in a gated community.

A home that is well built inside
Finishes can be changed over time; the structure cannot. That is why we take care of everything from the structural calculations to the material of every wall.
At Balaya y Asociados we bring together land, design, construction and our own carpentry: the kitchens, closets and doors in our homes are made by Cocinas Balaya (www.cocinasbalaya.com). One team responsible from start to finish.
Note: Novaceramic is a registered trademark of its respective owner. Balaya y Asociados has no commercial relationship, sponsorship or representation with that brand; we mention it only to state the material we use in our projects. The characteristics described apply to multi-perforated brick systems in general and to our building experience.
